HR Coordinator & Safeguarding Support £25,000-£35,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new HR Advisor and Safeguarding Lead at a prestigious College in Sudbury.

The right candidate will have good experience in HR (2 years minimum) and experience in Safeguarding procedures either in schools or other venues.

The candidate will play a big part in the day-to-day runnings of the HR department, including but not exclusively:

  • The Onboarding of new staff members – Co-ordinating staff members to ensure smooth running of the College
  • Recruitment – coordinate internal and external recruitment processes –
  • A wealth of HR Admin tasks
  • Governance
  • Maintain up-to-date organisation charts and job descriptions
  • As well as playing a big part in the Safeguarding processes:
  • Support the DSL in maintaining confidential and up-to-date files and records for Safeguarding cases
  • Work with the Designated Safeguarding Lead to complete administrative tasks related to the safeguarding of students.
  • Work closely with members of the Safeguarding Team providing administrative support related to the completion of referrals and information needed by external professionals
  • Assist the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) with low-level staff and student concerns and taking minutes in meetings Wider responsibilities
  • Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school
  • To have professional regard for the ethos, policies and practices of the College and maintain high standards in your own attendance and professional standards
  • Be an excellent role model for compliance with policies and procedures relating to Child Protection and Safeguarding and attend Safeguarding training as required.
  • Prepare and assist in the preparation of reports for Advisory Council meetings as required
  • Assist in organising student and staff College events as required Person Specification • At least two years in an administrative/HR role.
  • Desirable experience of working in a school environment with knowledge of school pre-employment checks and safeguarding regulations and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with an eye for detail
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Office, HR/ISAMS database)
  • Knowledge of Employment Law and safeguarding legislation is desirable
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information and understand GDPR regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet conflicting demands within tight deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills and experience in building productive working relationships and
    working collaboratively
  • A keen interest in HR and the education sector. Ideally with or studying toward a CIPD
